Real massage chairs are obviously superior to any attachable device and have additional facilities and controls.

With cheap chairs it is usually a good idea to test a potential massage chair by sitting on it for several minutes. You need to ensure that the massage stimulation is at the right points for your body or, failing that, offers adjustment to correct the massage zone position.

Removable massage appliances can also be added to regular chairs to provide a limited massage chair experience. These accessories can be in the form of pads that strap on to an existing chair or seat toppers that provide a full cover to the chair with a massage or vibation facility.
